Gina Andrea Carlson
Gina learned to crochet from her aunt when she was 7 years old. She has always loved design, art and simply creating, no matter what the medium! She started a yarn store with her mother over 15 years ago. While just coming back to this industry over the last couple of years, the natural inclination to create and design has also returned. Gina has designed crochet accessories and clothing that has been featured in Crochet Magazine and sold to department stores like Henri Bendel and high-end boutiques across the country. Gina is inspired by her own fashion style, classic, contemporary and the eclectic. Quick crochet, interchangeable pieces, unique stitch combinations are just a few elements throughout her designs.
Rosann’s designs appear in Vogue Knitting, Designer Knits, Noro Magazine, I Like Knitting and I Like Crochet, as well as on her website, www.firstbytedesigns.com. In addition to her work for periodicals, her patterns have also appeared in All Aboard, 60 Quick Cotton Knits: the Ultimate Collection, and Noro Kureyon: The 30th Anniversary Collection. When not designing for Prime Publishing, Universal Yarns, KFI and Soho Publishing, she provides business consulting services to local yarn stores and yarn companies interested in expanding their customer base offering a range of customized educational programs, social media solutions, knit-alongs, crochet-alongs and private design services.
